Okay, so. everythingkindoffellapart

I mean, I didn’t totally fall off the wagon! I have gotten better about doing things, like keeping dishes out of the sink, and staying on top of laundry. I did finish cleaning/organizing my closet and the master bathroom, and have *so far* kept them clean! But the day-to-day stuff in my “Confident Mom” planner has fallen a bit to the wayside. Part of the problem is I started reading again. omg I love reading. I haven’t read – like REALLY read – in over a year, probably. It’s so good. I love it. But I only have like 2-3 hours in the evenings to do stuff I want to do. I can’t just sit and read for 30 minutes. I need a good hour (or three). I’ve also been screwing up my sleep because I want to finish the book, darnit, so I’m going to stay away another 30, 45, 60 minutes…

Anyway – after pictures!!

2017 – January, Weeks 3 & 4 | The Wilson Buzz 2017 – January, Weeks 3 & 4 | The Wilson BuzzIt is very satisfying to have a clean closet and bathroom. I’m still highly motivated to get the rest of the house done. I just…need to get over this reading high first. lol!

2017 – January, Week 2

I was riding high on my killer Week 1, so of course I had to crash and burn this week. >.< I mean, I didn’t *totally* crash and burn, but it got off to a rough start. I had a cold, LBW had a cold, and about half the teeth in his head decided to make an appearance. I swear I’m only slightly exaggerating. He had like 2 teeth in December. December 30 I noticed two top teeth that he’d been cutting all month had finally popped out. January 6 I noticed a third top tooth that was almost out. January 8 I noticed a third bottom tooth that had already come all the way out that we’d somehow overlooked. So we have six visible teeth right now. And I’m pretty confident he’s working on at least two more up top, possibly more on the bottom. AND HE HAS A COLD. Do you know what this week has been like? Because I wish you could tell me – I’ve been in a sleepless fog the entire time. lol

I did use a January Cure assignment to knock out one of my personal goals, which I feel like is a bit of a cheat, but whatever. I have a lot to do this year, and have to do whatever it takes to not get burnt out in Week 2. Ugh, I just realized I need to do a Home Tour, too. Ugh, ugh, ugh.

My main focus this week was on doing a quick sort on all my clothes, to hopefully do a pretty good purge and cut down on the angst of next week, where I have to try everything on to make sure I really do like it and it fits me. I was…moderately successful.

2017 – January, Week 2 | The Wilson Buzz 2017 – January, Week 2 | The Wilson Buzz
2017 – January, Week 2 | The Wilson Buzz 2017 – January, Week 2 | The Wilson Buzz

You can click on any of those pictures to embiggen. (top left) I have started a nice little “donate” pile, but it’s still not as big as I was hoping. I’m sure it will grow in time. There are a lot of clothes in my like/love that I’m iffy about. I just want to try them on again to know for sure, you know? (top right) The pile in the background is my “like” pile of clothes I haven’t worn in awhile and am not sure still fit, but would like to try them on to make sure. The pile in the front are clothes that a coworker gave me when she cleaned out her closet. I need to try them on. (bottom left) I’m not sure how many – if any – of my bras still fit me. My boobs got weird after having the baby. I’ve decided I’m going to get one really nice article of clothing every month, starting with a good bra in January. I also need to come up with a good method to purge my panties. I have a lot that I never wear, but won’t get rid of for some reason. (bottom right) These are my “love” clothes that I don’t really love but I wear them a lot, so whatever.

Here’s what my reorganized closet looks like. Still on the fence on if I like it – we’ll see how functional it ends up being once it’s full of clothes. I’m not entirely sure how else I could set it up so it would work better… Suggestions?

For the bathroom, I just needed to “scrub” (I let Scrubbing Bubbles do most of the work) our shower and tub. Mr. T was supposed to finish the shower door project that he had started on, but I decided to give him projects based on the assumption that he had Mondays off. In actuality, he started on a project to design a mural for a new space at a local restaurant that is now taking up most of his Mondays…so we’ll see how much he actually gets done over the next few weeks. I’m really excited about the mural, though, so I won’t complain. But yeah, no work was done on the shower.

So, yeah – the tub wasn’t too exciting because it stays pretty clean. I use it so infrequently that the only real issue is that it gets dusty. The shower, on the other hand…oh, the shower…

At least you get satisfaction in getting visible improvement? And maybe now you have a better idea about what shape our toilet was in. lol! As far as the other stuff on my checklist…

2017 – January, Week 2 | The Wilson BuzzWell. I tried. Kind of. A little bit. On a couple days. lol! I have been trying to be mindful of the “hot spots” – our table and ottoman. Just keeping those clean I feel goes a long way toward keeping the house feeling clean. This coming week it’s going to be the kitchen island as well – I try to focus on a new one without giving up on the previous one(s) every week.

30 Minute Cleaning Countdown

I want you to choose one closet in your home that could use a little attention. Grab a vacuum, a trash bag and an outbox/bag and put them by the closet. This is a timed Cure exercise, so also grab your phone or a kitchen timer and set it for 30 minutes… Once you have gathered your supplies, start your timer and JUST JUMP IN! At the end of 30 minutes, when your alarm rings, shut off the vacuum and wrap things up. Take a moment to assess what else needs to happen, if anything, for the closest to be in really good shape and estimate how much time it will take you to complete that on another day. Then, put back anything you may have taken out temporarily to make room to clean and put what you decided to get rid of into your outbox or rag bin and CLOSE THE DOOR. You are done for today!

We’re supposed to be cleaning out a closet, but since my entire January goal is my closet (and the master bathroom), and this is the week I’m supposed to be doing my “quick and dirty” sort, I decided to dedicated 30 min of post-LBW bedtime to doing the sort. Look at me, tweaking the rules so I can mark two things off my list in one activity! I’m so sneaky. Plus, it’s Tuesday and I haven’t even started to sort…so I really needed to do that. I was planning on cleaning out our hall closet for this challenge, but I’ll just get to that in September, when I’m scheduled to organize the hallway, half-bath, and laundry room. Hooray, procrastination!

2017 January Cure: Assignment 7 | The Wilson Buzz

Not too shabby if I do say so myself… DO YOU WANT A PICTURE BREAKDOWN?! I THOUGHT YOU MIGHT, SO HERE WE GO:

2017 January Cure: Assignment 7 | The Wilson BuzzI’m keeping most of my shoes because I don’t have many shoes and they’re all crap. I did set aside one pair to donate. I have two sandals that don’t match, but are missing their mates. I love those shoes, and I’m not getting rid of them until I’m done purging the entire house and have confirmed the other ones are lost forever. Or I buy new sandals in the Spring. Either way. And I have two pair of shoes that I’ve really never worn but can’t get rid of…so I’m keeping them for one more year and if I don’t wear them in the next year I’m donating them then. Darnit.

2017 January Cure: Assignment 7 | The Wilson BuzzThis is my donate pile. Not the sound machine. Those things are worth their weight in gold. But, yeah – I thought the donate pile would be bigger. I’m not done yet, of course. Still some stuff to sort, and then I have to actually try on everything I want to keep. Bleh.

2017 January Cure: Assignment 7 | The Wilson BuzzThat big pile to the left of the lamp is my keep pile, and the smaller pile in front of it is my maybe pile. I probably have half-a-dozen maternity shirts still floating around, but my maternity box for the attic is full – I can’t put anything else in it. Plus they’re some of my most comfy shirts. Lots of stretch. lolol

2017 January Cure: Assignment 7 | The Wilson BuzzI have a lot of t-shirts going all the way back to high school from things like church camp and I can’t get rid of them even though I haven’t worn them in a friggen decade. WHATEVER. I also found several of Wade’s things. Why they were in my closet? idk.

2017 January Cure: Assignment 7 | The Wilson BuzzThis is the pile of things that were hanging that I still need to go through. This is where a lot of donate things are going to come from, I think, because the stuff that I actually wear I wasn’t bothering to hang up because I knew this was coming up. lol

A couple of fun things I found…this bomb dot com giraffe hat that Mr. T got me a few years ago. Once the temperature drops again imma be wearing this bad boy to work every day! What are they gonna do, fire me?!?!?! I’m hilarious.

2017 January Cure: Assignment 7 | The Wilson BuzzAnd this is one of the sweetest things Mr. T’s ever gotten me. It was when we were first married and he was going to be gone for a while. He didn’t want me to miss him, so he thought he’d get me a gift to keep me company. It was supposed to feel like he was sleeping beside me in the bed. He just…he got the scale off a little bit.

Past Cures

2017 – January, Week 1

Posted on

Check out the full month here.

So for Week 1 all (ha! “all”) I had to do was totally clean out my closet (then clean it) and scrub the toilet in the master bathroom. Mr. T’s project was to fix the toilet. It had started leaking – again – where the water line connects to the tank. It actually started doing this not long after we moved in and he fixed it back then with some plumber’s tape. He was actually doing the same thing this time, but he’s so MANLY AND STRONG that he tightened it too much and broke the PVC connector and had to replace it. >.< Anyway, after he replaced it, it seems the leak is fixed – again – at least for now.

If you follow me on Instagram (you totally should), you’ve already seen these pictures. But here are the Before/After photos of the closet from Day 1 of “the emptying”:

2017 - January, Week 1 | The Wilson Buzz2017 - January, Week 1 | The Wilson Buzz I’m not entirely sure how many trips I took up the stairs with all my clothes. And for the record, this isn’t even all my clothes. These are just the ones in my closet. I’m sure there are plenty mixed in with Mr. T’s clothes in our disaster of a bedroom, and I just don’t want to deal with that right now. ALSO, since I knew I was going to be doing this, I’ve gotten a bit lazy about hanging up my clothes after washing them (which is part of the reason my “before” pictures are so horrific)…but that means all the clothes I wear pretty regularly were the first ones I carried upstairs. So they’re at the bottom of the pile. Finding clothes to wear to work was fun. >.<

I don’t have any pictures of the results from the cleaning and reorganization, though. Actually, I did take some, but then I planned on doing a couple more things so I decided to delete those pictures and take new ones…I did do the stuff I planned on doing, but I didn’t take more pictures! I’m not 100% sold on the new layout, anyway. We’ll just have to see how it works as I start bringing in clothes. I may have screwed myself out of a lot of hanging space with how I placed the furniture.

Oh, and I’m not going to show you a picture of our toilet. Even I have my limits with oversharing, okay? You may not believe it, but it’s true! Plus, if you saw it now, you’d go “it’s just a toilet, though” and I’d be like “but you should have seen it BEFORE!!” And now you’re probably imagining something way more horrific than it really was. Anyway, no pictures.

Outside of the main closet/master bath projects I had, I also have some daily and one-off tasks planned out in my daily planner. I think I did a pretty good job of maintaining that as well. Way to be responsible, Sarah! *pats self on back* I didn’t always get it done the day I scheduled, but I still got most everything done! Except the exercise. Screw exercise…

Surface Sweeps April 1-7

Posted on

Like I mentioned before, I’ve started a new FB group all about getting/staying motivated. So far we have the categories: nutrition, exercise, sleep, and around the house. I’ve started up the Morning Person class again in an attempt to improve my sleep/morning habits, and I’ve started Tai Cheng again! (After over a month of taking a break…) I haven’t really done anything nutrition-wise yet, but I do want to try out Soylent. I know two people that are “eating” it, and it seems like it might be a viable option for Mr. T and me to try – at least for lunch at work. But, yeah – for the “around the house” portion, I’ve decided to do a Surface Sweep every day, and take before/after pictures to help motivate me. I won’t blog about it every day, because HELLO, TEDIOUS. But maybe once a week!

April 1, 2015

Surface Sweep 04/01/15 | The Wilson BuzzI finally cleaned up the clothes in my closet floor!! It all started going south when I did a couple loads of laundry. I took my little hamper bags out of the closet, thinking it would be easier to transport them to the laundry room that way. And it was! But I didn’t bring the bags BACK. So my clothes weren’t getting sorted, and I had a pretty hefty pile of them on the floor beside my hamper. The pile to the left in the first picture are all dirty. The pile in the top right are clean and a great showcase of my biggest procrastination problem with laundry. Putting it away. My GOD why is that so hard?!? I suck at it. Suuuuuuuck so hard at it. But! As I swear to do every time I do laundry and yet always fail, here I am again, swearing to never do this…again! The next time I do laundry, I will put it all away as soon as it comes out of the dryer! I WILL!!!!

Surface Sweep 04/02/15 | The Wilson Buzz

Surface Sweep 04/02/15 | The Wilson BuzzLast night I cleaned the bonus room! Or at least started on it. The cats have pretty much had free reign up there for the past two years, so short of a total remodel there is only so much we can do. It’s kind of gross, and I feel bad about that. :( I hate litter boxes. We’ve tried every box under the sun and Khat still manages to find a way to pee outside of it, while standing inside it. I love/hate that stupid cat. And you can’t even blame it on old age – she’s always been a litter box magician! This was a bit more intense than a “surface sweep”, but I have a couple of friends coming over tonight for a SLUMBER PARTY. I wanted to be able to get away from the dogs, because ew, boys. ;) I’ll just burn some incense and hope for the best.

April 3-5, 2015

Listen. I was busy this weekend, okay? On Saturday I did start cleaning out our reading nook closet, but all that resulted in was trashing the bonus room again. Plus I barely made a dent in the closet. >.> I didn’t get any pictures. The slumber party was a lot of fun, though!! We stayed up relatively late, considering how old and tired we all are. Sunday was filled with Easter stuff – lunch with Mr. T’s family, egg hunt at my sister’s house, lazy night reading/playing video games with Mr. T. We both took naps!! I plan on getting back on track today, though.

April 6, 2015

Surface Sweep 04/06/15 | The Wilson BuzzI didn’t really do much Monday. Sputnik and Vigo got in a fight Sunday night. Ironically (?) Sputnik – the big, scary pit – got hurt more than Vigo, so we took him to the vet. They had to sedate him to clean his wounds because he wouldn’t stop trying to lick the doctors! >.< It wasn’t anything major, he just had a few puncture wounds. Vigo got him a few times on his legs, and above his eye. He was still loopy when I got home from work. I spent a few hours sitting on the couch with all three dogs (who get along famously 99.9% of the time) since they hadn’t been getting enough attention lately. Of course, if you ask them they never get enough attention… Anyway, I hung out with them for a bit, then went upstairs to hang out with Mr. T, and then suddenly it was past 11:00 and I hadn’t taken a shower yet. I rushed to let the dogs out, and started straightening the sheets when I discovered Splinter had done…something…on the bed. It wasn’t poop or pee…it was like he’d eaten something. And thank GOD I decided to straighten the sheets, or I might not have noticed! And thank GOD Mr. T messes the sheets up so much that I have to straighten them!! And thank GOD we finally bought a mattress cover a few months ago. *shudder* So, anyway, I got to fulfill my “surface sweep” goal for yesterday by putting fresh sheets on the bed! I didn’t think about it until I was about to fall asleep, so there are no before/after pictures, but here’s one of me and a disgruntled Sputnik. Sorry my hair looks crazy, it was still wet from the shower. BUT I DID TAKE ONE.

April 7, 2015

Well crap. I meant to take pictures this morning, but totally forgot. I did some more work in the book nook closet yesterday. I found all my old CDs!

Surface Sweep 04/07/15 | The Wilson BuzzYeah – still not halfway into the closet, and I’ve totally trashed the bonus room in the process. So it goes… Maybe I can get it all finished tonight? At least get the closet cleaned OUT. Maybe not get all the crap that’s out of it put away. I’m not sure what to do with 90% of it. The reason it was in there is because we didn’t know what to do with it!!

FINALLY

I got the bleeping closet finished!!

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 6 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 6 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 6 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 6 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 6 | The Wilson BuzzYes, I’m well aware that almost all of the stencil is covered. But I know it’s there. If I’m being honest, at this point I don’t really care…I’m just glad I have a functional closet again. Mr. T gave me that elaborate shelf thing to use for my shoes, but it kind of takes up a lot of space. I’m not sure this is the best layout for the closet…it may get rearranged one day, or I may just learn to deal with it. But I’ll tell you this, if any animals slips past my defenses and pees ANYWHERE in or around my closet… I will lose my ever-loving mind. Straight up lose my mind. And yes I did hide my “art” in the closet. That crap does not need to be on display, okay!?!

Update: Okay, I’ve already changed it. I think this is much better.

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 6 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 6 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 6 | The Wilson Buzz

If you can’t tell what changed, you’re blind I moved all my hanging clothes over to the right side of the closet and brought in my mirror. I also moved the scarves between the shoe shelves and my dresser. I hung them on the shelf instead of in a straight line along the railing for hangers. Oh, and don’t mind my PJs up on the shelf in that last picture… I should get a bin or basket or box or some other ‘b’ word to store jam jams where they’re easily accessible. If I try to keep them in a drawer I’m too lazy to put them away every morning. That may sound bad, but at least I’m honest and understand how lazy I am.

Getting ready this morning was so amazing. So, so amazing. <3 my new closet!

AT January Cure #15: Jump In

Even a Little Closet Clearing Goes a Long Way

Similar to the Pantry Purge or Drawer Cleanout, this is about improving ONE specific, contained area of your home. It can be a linen closet, a coat closet, your main wardrobe closet – whatever appeals to you. If you have just a little time to spend, go for the one that feels most do-able and just give it a quick polish. If you are raring to go, tackle the biggest monster. Whatever you choose, keep it to one closet only – you have the rest of the year to hit up more.

The point is: JUST JUMP IN and don’t worry about how far you’ll get or whether it will be “finished” today. Go in armed with an outbox, a trash bag and a vacuum and do your best. Even 15 minutes spent on straightening, decluttering and dust-bunny hunting will make a noticeable dent!

I originally wanted to clean out the closet in our bonus room that will eventually be a book nook, but this week has been crazy because of Two-Tone Tattoo Parlor (now open!) and I fell behind. So I cheated and used my closet, since I was going to work on it this weekend, anyway. :) I’ve waited far, far too long to finish it. When did I start this?? October 27. Well that’s embarrassing. No matter! I’m not going to post pictures here, because I want those to go in my “Surprise! Closet Renovation” series. For whatever reason. I don’t know…don’t question me. I really didn’t have much to do, just get the drop cloth floor in and finally hang all my clothes back up. So just hop on over to the grand reveal post and revel in the mediocre glory.

Note: I wrote this post on January 24, but didn’t get around to finishing my closet until February 2. WHAT CAN YA DO?

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 5

My Style Cure has come to a screeching halt, and I’m blaming this ****ing closet. The bedroom is back in the same shape it was before I cleaned it for Assignment #Whatever. And it’s mainly my clothes. Of course, I went to grab one of Mr. T’s t-shirts to wear yesterday and his dresser was totally empty. I asked where all his nicely washed and folded clothes were and he pointed at a monster pile in front of his hamper. #JesusTakeTheWheel

Meh, I just have to accept that no project we ever start will get finished in any sort of reasonable time frame. I probably should’ve focused on the living room for my Style Cure. Or maybe I shouldn’t have started this stupid closet project until the bedroom was done?! Ah, well. I yam who I yam, and that’s all that I yam. The good news is I’m tantalizingly close to finishing the closet!

PICTURES

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 5 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 5 | The Wilson Buzz

Here’s the left wall. FINISHED! Booyeah, baby! If I had thought about framing around the stencil, instead of trying to get it to run all the way up to the corners my half-bath would’ve been MUCH easier. But I’m not sure if this method would’ve worked as well in that tiny little room. Honestly, it might not “work” in here, either, but I don’t flipping care. Painting becomes much less stressful when you go “Oh, wait – this is in my closet and is not going to ever be seen by any human being ever.” I mean…that’s also a bit depressing. Like why on earth did I make a simple closet paint job so complicated…but still. Less pressure. 8}

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 5 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 5 | The Wilson Buzz

And over here on the right wall you can see the very last time I have to tape the stencil on the wall. GLORIOUS DAY. I feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth out of this devil-spawn stencil and I never want to use it again. Remind me of this! I will forget, and I will regret that. But I think there is a limit to how much birch tree stencil one house can handle… And we’re at max capacity. 8}

The only things left to do are:

  • finish the emerald corners (curse you, nubby arms!)
  • finish the white on the front wall
  • put emerald box around the right wall
  • get my clothes back in here
  • cover the floor
  • paint the dresser
  • bring furniture back in

I mean…that seems like a lot, but painting the walls was 90% of the project. I need a pie chart instead of a bulleted list. But I’m not gonna. I’m far too lazy. lol!

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 4

I declared that I would have my closet finished by the end of this weekend so I could get all my clothes back in here and clear out room to finish the Style Cure in our bedroom. Well. I didn’t start painting until 7:00pm Sunday night. >.< And…I ran into a few complications.

I had never gotten around to peeling all the paint off my stencil. It took TWO episodes of Criminal Minds to get all this peeled off!!

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 4 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 4 | The Wilson Buzz

I have to say…picking paint off of a stencil is VERY satisfying. But it’s impossible to get it all off.

And then…I’m short:

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 4 | The Wilson BuzzI couldn’t reach the very corners of the ceiling to tape them off. Side note – can you see the difference lighting makes?? This paint looks super blue in the living room, where I was peeling it off the stencil, and more green in my closet.

Oh, and…I have to freaking wait on PAINT TO DRY:

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 4 | The Wilson Buzz

We got semi-gloss white paint (I think – there’s paint over the label now) so it’s super slick. It takes at least 3 coats of the emerald to cover it, and it has to be completely dry before you do another coat, or it just slips around. It’s total madness, I tell you. MADNESS.

But I did get at least one small section finished, so you can see what it’s going to look like when it’s all done:

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 4 | The Wilson BuzzI don’t think that looks weird, does it? Ugh, #CripplingSelfDoubt

Anyway, I got the stencil on the left side, and finished the back side. So I just need to put stencil on the right side and finish the stripes.  PICTURES:

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 4 | The Wilson Buzz Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 4 | The Wilson Buzz

I got the right side taped off, at least. Oh, and yeah – so maybe I haven’t finished painting white on the front wall. DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. I’ll get it finished eventually. 8P I’m not sure what happened to that middle tree in the stencil. I kind of stopped caring about lining things up perfectly. 8} Is it confusing that the left side is the right picture and the right side is the left picture? I’m not changing it, I’m just curious.

Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 3

I didn’t get as much done in my closet as I had hoped this weekend (anyone surprised?) so I’m going to go ahead and give you another “sneak peek” of the progress. I just can’t help myself!!

Surprise! Closet Renovation: Part 3 | The Wilson BuzzOkay, guys – I hid this from you because I didn’t want to you tell me “Sarah – you vowed to never use that stencil again!” I didn’t want to be talked out of it!! Well. The next time I start any home reno project just go ahead and say “Sarah…you aren’t using that stencil, right??” and maybe that will convince me!

This time wasn’t as bad, though. I knew what to expect (misery), and the walls were larger, without any outlets/light switches/sinks/light fixtures getting all up in my bidness. Because of those weird nail/screw things, I didn’t bother taking the shelves down, so I was left with a bit of a wonky spacing issue. But I made the best of it! Hooray for laziness!!

Surprise! Closet Renovation: Part 3 | The Wilson BuzzThere was a small bit at the bottom where the stencil didn’t go all the way to the bottom, and there was a larger gap up top. Instead of fighting with the stencil like I did in the half bath, I just went eff it, and put a border above/below. I had no idea how it would turn out, but didn’t really care. lol! It’s going to be mostly covered up by clothes, anyway. I just want to finish it!! Of course, they always say the lazy way ends up being harder in the long run, and I really stressed myself out trying to get straight lines. I had a laser level AND a yard stick. I’m pretty sure the yard stick isn’t straight, for the record. It probably took me longer to get the tape on the walls than it did to paint any part of this.

Oh, and going back to me being lazy…

Surprise! Closet Renovation: Part 3 | The Wilson BuzzI didn’t get all the black paint off the stencil before starting in with the emerald, so it peeled off in a few places. OOPS. I’m not sure the best method for getting it all off? Paint thinner, maybe? Some sort of scrapey thing? It’s reaaaaaally fun to pick at it, but that doesn’t get everything off. :\

Anywho, I’m about…maybe 50%?…done with the stencil. I have the entire back wall done, but need to do the two side walls. They’re smaller, but will need at least two stencil widths. I’m not worrying about painting the wall against the bathroom. The door completely covers one side of it, and the other has the outlet and light switch on it. I’m just going to paint them straight white and call it a day. I’m still working on the top of the closet, too. Trust me – it’s nothing interesting.

At any rate, here is a picture that shows what 3/4 of the bottom half of the closet will eventually look like:

Surprise! Closet Renovation: Part 3 | The Wilson BuzzNot too shabby, if I do say so myself. I’m debating on putting some of those fancy vinyl stickers in the wider emerald strip. Some sort of inspirational (or silly) quote… But really – it’s all going to be covered up with clothes. It’s probably not worth the effort.

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6
