Surprise! Closet Renovation, Part 5

My Style Cure has come to a screeching halt, and I’m blaming this ****ing closet. The bedroom is back in the same shape it was before I cleaned it for Assignment #Whatever. And it’s mainly my clothes. Of course, I went to grab one of Mr. T’s t-shirts to wear yesterday and his dresser was totally empty. I asked where all his nicely washed and folded clothes were and he pointed at a monster pile in front of his hamper. #JesusTakeTheWheel

Meh, I just have to accept that no project we ever start will get finished in any sort of reasonable time frame. I probably should’ve focused on the living room for my Style Cure. Or maybe I shouldn’t have started this stupid closet project until the bedroom was done?! Ah, well. I yam who I yam, and that’s all that I yam. The good news is I’m tantalizingly close to finishing the closet!

Here’s the left wall. FINISHED! Booyeah, baby! If I had thought about framing around the stencil, instead of trying to get it to run all the way up to the corners my half-bath would’ve been MUCH easier. But I’m not sure if this method would’ve worked as well in that tiny little room. Honestly, it might not “work” in here, either, but I don’t flipping care. Painting becomes much less stressful when you go “Oh, wait – this is in my closet and is not going to ever be seen by any human being ever.” I mean…that’s also a bit depressing. Like why on earth did I make a simple closet paint job so complicated…but still. Less pressure. 8}

And over here on the right wall you can see the very last time I have to tape the stencil on the wall. GLORIOUS DAY. I feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth out of this devil-spawn stencil and I never want to use it again. Remind me of this! I will forget, and I will regret that. But I think there is a limit to how much birch tree stencil one house can handle… And we’re at max capacity. 8}

The only things left to do are:

  • finish the emerald corners (curse you, nubby arms!)
  • finish the white on the front wall
  • put emerald box around the right wall
  • get my clothes back in here
  • cover the floor
  • paint the dresser
  • bring furniture back in

I mean…that seems like a lot, but painting the walls was 90% of the project. I need a pie chart instead of a bulleted list. But I’m not gonna. I’m far too lazy. lol!
