Smoothie Review: Vegan Vanilla Milkshake

Hmm… So it’s not really a “smoothie” per-say. Or maybe it is. I dunno. The whole “tofu” thing was kind of weird, and I couldn’t find any “soft” tofu, so I had to go with a harder kind? I didn’t really know there were different consistencies of tofu, and neither does Kroger. But, hey – if you say it’s going to taste like a milkshake, I’ll give it a try. Anyway, doubled the recipe so I could make one for Mr. T as well.

Recipe:
1 cup tofu – whatever consistency you can find
2 cups vanilla soy milk
2 frozen bananas
1 tablespoon peanut butter

You guys. This one was pretty darn tasty. I have to admit, though…it’s been a week or three since I made these, and I never wrote the review for this one, so I can’t be 100% sure that I gave it 5 stars. But looking back on them now as I type all these out…this is the only one I’d be willing to make again. And it’s the only one that I actually used all the ingredients. Soy milk is pretty darn tasty. I mean…it tastes NOTHING like milk, but it’s not bad. I didn’t try it with cereal or anything, but drinking it straight was a fantastic treat. I posted about that on Facebook and several people suggested I try almond milk as well. Soon, almond milk. Soon. Oh, and Mr. T forgot to grab his in the morning, and by the time he got back home he said it had curdled? I didn’t see it, so I’m not sure what he’s talking about. He just never tried it and wasted a delicious beverage. Shun him. Shuuuuun.

  1. Dude, I LOVE tofu smoothies! They’re so creamy. Almond milk is pretty good. If you were going to use it or soy on cereal, I’d get unsweetened. It tastes less good to drink straight, though.

    • Unsweetened almond milk is for the devil. I accidentally bought it and will never make that mistake again. You might as well just use water. Blech.
