Getting to Know You, Part 1

50 Questions to Get to Know Someone

“What’s your favorite…”

  1. What was your favorite food when you were a child?
    • Hmm… I don’t know about “favorite” but here’s some weird stuff that I ate when I was younger: Butter. Nothing with it, not smeared on anything, I just ate butter. Icing. Straight from the tub, using a spoon. Honey. I drank out of one of those honey bears like it was a bottle. Bread. A friend of the family had one of those breadmakers and she’d make a loaf, cut the top off of it, and I’d eat the entire middle out of it while watching TV.
  2. What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?
    • I don’t have an iPod. I listen to Spotify and Pandora, and I don’t think either tracks the songs I listen to most. I will say my most-played playlist on Spotify is probably “Cake” which is…I think all of Cake’s discography, minus any live CDs. I hate listening to a “live” recording. Unless I’m physically in the middle of the screaming crowd I don’t care to listen to it. What was the question?
  3. What is one of your favorite quotes?
    • “Tomorrow you promise yourself will be different, yet tomorrow is too often a repetition of today.” – James T. McCay
    • I saw this randomly on Goodreads and was like “Yes. That is a perfect summary of my life.” It reminds me a lot of my favorite Bible verses that I’ve never memorized because I’m a horrible Christian:
    • I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do…For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do – this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. – Romans 7:15 & 18-20
    • I’m planning a sleeve tattoo and want “Be Different” incorporated in some way.
  4. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
    • Indoor: Umm…pretty much anything? Other than work, or exercise.
    • Outdoor: Again, pretty much anything. Walking the dogs is always usually fun. Even though I tend to be lazy and want to stay indoors, any time I do go out and do something I feel better about life afterward.
  5. What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
    • Can I only pick one?! Hmm… I would say laundry, maybe. There are just so many steps to it that drag out and take all day. If I’m doing the dishes, I do them until they’re done. At most I have to eventually unload the dishwasher, if it was full. With laundry I have to gather it, sort it, wash it, waaaaaaaait, dry it, waaaaaaaait, fold it, and put it away.
  6. What is your favorite form of exercise?
    • None of the above? lol! I prefer exercise that doesn’t feel like exercise, like doing yard work, walking the dogs, or riding my bike. Unfortunately none of that happens often enough or long enough to really count/accomplish anything. So I guess the next best thing is some sort of instructional video that I can follow along with at home. I don’t understand how to use all the equipment at the gym and I don’t care to be surrounded by strangers while trying to figure it all out. Taking a class would be fun, too. But I have no clue when I’d be able to do that.
  7. What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?
    • My favorite time of day….after 4:00 on a work day I start to get super excited about life. The hour or so drive between work and home is kind of horrible, then there is the joy of being home (around 5:45 or so), and then when Mr. T gets home around 9:30. On weekends I would say it’s when I first wake up and know I have an entire day to spend not at work. lol! And then another boost when Mr. T gets home.
  8. What’s your least favorite mode of transportation?
    • Interesting…. I would say anything that requires I sit for hours with no break. Or anything that causes my motion sickness to flair up.
  9. What is your favorite body part?
    • On me, or people in general? Because I think my boobs are pretty snazzy. Actually, boobs in general are pretty snazzy. If I can be a bit broad in my definition of “body part”, I like men’s torsos. Waist up, men are fiiiiine. Below the waist I’m more “meh” about them. ;) It all serves a purpose, but it’s more function than form. lol!
  10. What sound do you love?
