DIY Macrame Curtain

I’m doing it. I’m so confident that I’m going to DO THIS tonight that I’m starting my blog post early!! I’m committing. No going back! Going to finish!! I can’t even tell you how long ago I started this stupid project… Ages and ages and AGES ago. But I’m doing it!

DIY Macrame Curtain | A Beautiful Mess

The first time I started it, I was trying to tie the knots without having the bar up high enough (when have I ever set the bar high??). I asked Mr. T to hang the bar so I could try again, and it took him months and months to do it. To be fair, I wasn’t trying too hard to convince him…I’d already run out of steam on this project. But heHE – finally got tired of the supplies laying around, so he hung the bar. Aaaaand…that was months ago. >.< But today is the day! THE DAY!! I’m leaving work right meow, and I’m going to do this when I get home. Say a prayer for me…and the dogs. And Mr. T, just for good measure. Like I said, I was in a foul mood yesterday.

Update: It’s been like 2 weeks since I first started this post…and what a disaster it turned out to be. I really did get started on the curtain!! But the PVC isn’t strong enough to support the rope. I’m talking major saggage. So we’re back at Square 1. We need to get some wooden rods, I guess. There are also issues with the way the studs are in the wall. Mr. T couldn’t put the hooks right at the edges. I’m thinking we should get a 2×4 or some other chunk o’ wood – screw THAT into the studs, and then put the hooks on the edges of the 2×4. Do you think that would work?

DIY Macrame Curtain | The Wilson BuzzIt’s kind of hard to tell from this angle, but the left side is about .5″ lower than the right side. It IS obvious that the hooks are weirdly-placed. *womp womp*

I’ll finish this project eventually!! I wonder, too, if we should paint the walls before we do this? Oh God… Hello, wormhole of which I am about to fall into.

Tell me how you REALLY feel:
