Dinner Tonight

Dinner tonight is….Chipotle Bean Bowls.

I’m trying to cook more. This desire comes and goes. Hopefully it will eventually stay. I doubt I’ll ever be one of those people that prepares every breakfast, lunch, and dinner from scratch. But if I cook dinner more nights than I don’t in a week, I’ll call it a win.

Now let’s be real – I’m not a food blogger. You’re not gonna get step-by-step instructions on how I did this. I pretty much followed the steps in the link I posted above. So if you want to do this, do that. I fudged the ingredients a bit. Well, the amounts. I also cooked the corn. She said frozen corn, but then said to turn the heat off before mixing in the corn. Excuse me, no – I will not be biting into ice corn, thankyouverymuch. So I put the corn in first and left the eye on for a bit. And then I kept the skillet on the hot eye while I mixed everything else in, so it would all warm up. I, uh, also didn’t take any pictures. Just assume mine didn’t look as nice as hers and get on with life.

All in all…I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5? I’m not sure how it can be both bland and spicy, but it is. My mouth is kind of burning, but I’m underwhelmed with the flavors. If I were a better cook I would try to mix in some spices, but that’s just crazy talk. God knows what I would do to this thing if I started playing around with it. Maybe I’ll add some salt…

Yeah, salt helped. I love salt. It’s so…salty. This is also very filling. I made one bowl and have only eaten about half of it and I’m stuffed. Mr. T is going to complain, though, because there is no meat. Tough titties, Mr. T! Gah, it’s spicy. I put tooooo much chipotle and adobo sauce in there. I kept tasting it and was all “Well that’s not so spicy!” and now that I’m eating it…I’m dying. >.< I don’t do spicy, guise. Also, the poops the next day…wooo!

I’m pretty much done rambling about food now. How much do you love Project Runway? I loooooooove it!

Tell me how you REALLY feel:
