Becoming a Morning Person, Lesson 3

So I’ve signed up for this free online “class” through Little Green Dot about becoming a morning person. If you’re interested in it, tough toenails, ’cause the class is closed. ;) But you can read along in my blog!!

Your New Snooze Button

Go back to your intention statement for a second. What is the meaning of waking up early for you? Why do you want to stop hitting snooze? Get clear on that, spend time there – because that’s your motivation. That’s why you get out of bed. This week, you’re going to practice a new way of waking up. If you spend just 60 seconds on this routine, you won’t need to spend the next 20 minutes hitting snooze.

This stretch routine is great because it’s not passive, it’s active. It’s empowering. Commit to a full body experience – the more you get into it, mentally and physically – the sooner you’ll feel yourself waking. There are 6 stretches in this routine which can be completed in just 60 seconds. Feel free to adapt them — you can make it longer if you enjoy it. Practice the routine before sleeping tonight, so that in the morning you can get right to it.

I’m not telling you the routine. 8P

Are you ready for NO more snoozing? Let’s start the day feeling empowered – grateful, standing tall and smiling. How will this feeling affect the rest of your day? Your challenge this week is to practice this stretch routine each morning. See the challenge as  a commitment to rising up, and observe how it makes you feel. When you stand up and smile, what will you be thinking about? What’s making you happy?

So I totally passed out on the couch last night. And then slept through about three snoozes on my phone. I did remember suddenly, right around 6:00, that I was supposed to stretch before waking up, so I was able to find the email and flop around a bit in an attempt to wake up! Mr. T was very confused by my shenanigans, lol!

It did help me wake up, but didn’t really help me want to get out of bed. I still did it, though. And I was alllllmost ready right at 7:00. I was thinking “Awesome, I’m going to get to work early! Life is good.” Aaaaand then I decided I’d hang up some clothes that were in the dryer. Suddenly it was 7:30 and I was running late and life suck, suck, sucked. >.<

Tell me how you REALLY feel:
