2015 Book Photo Challenge: Feb 1-18

Can I just take a moment to say “Holy *$@% it’s already mid-February?!”

Holy *$@% it’s already mid-February?!

Here is a massive catch-up post for the book photo challenge.

reading this month

Feb 1, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I actually took this one on time, but forgot to blog about it!! So halfway hooray for me! These are the two books that were picked for my book clubs to read in February. Well, The Inheritance Trilogy was actually…well, a trilogy. So it was our Jan/Feb book for one club. And I had totally slacked off on voting for the other book club, so we hadn’t picked a February book yet. We did end up reading Gone Girl, though. Which is the one I voted for – yay!

Feb 2, 2015

I have no idea where the first book is, but these were the first “dystopian” books I found. I really need to re-read this series… <3 The Hunger Games

made me cry

Feb 3, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

Story Town, man… Jason makes you have feelings. He has a Facebook page that you can follow. He just finished another story, To Lumber Home, that you can read on his website. It’s a bit less depressing than Something in the Woods was. Both are worth the read, though!

couldn’t put down

Feb 4, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I mean…I had to put it down, and often, thanks to work. But it was difficult!! This was a great book, I’m glad our book club chose it to read – I’d been meaning to do it for ages. Sometimes you just need a nudge, you know?

makes me smile

Feb 5, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

omg I love Allie Brosh so hard. She really struggles with depression and that makes me sad, because she brings such joy to my life, only to be lacking it in her own. Her comics are hilarious and relatable and I want to be her friend.

romantic comedy

Feb 6, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I really did enjoy these books. A lot of people got pissy because it wasn’t an accurate representation of how diary entries work, but my God – have you read someone’s diary?? They’re usually not all that interesting, and this is coming from someone who kept journals for nearly a decade. Now I’ve moved on to writing a non-interesting blog for everyone to read!! Oh, and say “Hey” to Chairman.

female author

Feb 7, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I really enjoy Mary Balogh’s books. They’re all romance, and cheesy romance at that. Set in the “regency” era, I think? 1800s England. I love them as brain candy. Love love love. She’s probably the author I own the most. These were just the first three books I saw – once we have our reading nook organized a decade or two from now I’ll have them all on display together.

favorite genre

Feb 8, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I don’t know how to classify this…ridiculous humor? But these books are my jam. *smash mug* MORE!

Feb 9, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I refuse to believe it is fiction.

graphic novel

Feb 10, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

We own a Scott Pilgrim vs The World book, I think we own Watchmen, and I bought Mr. T the Complete Zombies vs Robots collection, but this is the only one I could find. I have no clue where it came from or what it’s about, but it’s a graphic novel and I’m counting it. #dealwithit

books & candy

Feb 11, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

So it’s not “books AND candy” but it’s candy IN A book!! It’s a recipe for Hard Maple Candy (as you can see in the photo, of course). I actually made this once! It didn’t go well at all!! You really need a candy thermometer if you’re going to make candy!! It all melted into a goooooo! (But the goo did taste like maple candy, so there’s that.)

romantic cover

Feb 12, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I mean…I guess this is a romantic cover? Better than a torn bosom, no? Or shirtless man? Her lips and eye are like whoa, you know? I still haven’t read it. :\ I should get on that!!

fictional boyfriend

Feb 13, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I love me some Peeta. Love me Peeta so hard. He reminds me a lot of Mr. T. I am nothing like Katniss, but whatever. LOVE PEETA.

romantic read

Feb 14, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

Maybe you don’t think this is romantic…but I do! I love this book. Dude works hard to get revenge. It’s impressive! You should read it, if you haven’t already. Do you like the background? It’s a blanket Mom got me for Christmas. So snuggly and warm. 8} Wait, what was I talking about?

books & flowers

Feb 15, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I bought these flowers because they were half off post-Valentine’s Day (I just realized why there are so many love-themed prompts this month!!!) and yay flowers! I definitely did NOT stage this photo on our living room floor with three random books I pulled off a shelf…nope, not at all. This is how we live all the time.

sexy & steamy

Feb 16, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

Yeah, yeah. It is what it is, okay? I don’t hate them. I’m not going to argue for or against them here, just using them to fulfill this prompt. But here is an excellent blog post from someone else that articulates my thoughts on the series.

stand alone

Feb 17, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

I think this is a stand alone book? It was bizarre, I know that much. Worth a read! But it’s long… I’m not sure I’ll reread it, but I don’t regret reading it. Huzzah!

classic romance

Feb 18, 2015 | The Wilson Buzz

The most classic of romances. <3 Jane Austen. Well, I love Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. I wasn’t so into Mansfield Park with the cousin love and all that… I didn’t finish it and I haven’t read any more of her books. Anyway – CLASSIC ROMANCE.
